180 Variants

in order of best to worst

Original AR18&AR180 (+S versions) - prohibited unobtanium
AR180B with Nodak lower
RWA 180B - extremely rare
original AR180B
Spec 180 with steel upper
WK180 with steel upper
WS-MCR
WK180
SBI Lynx

We will have to see were the Jard ends up but I suspect near the bottom, the PWS will likely land near the top as IRG was involved in the RWA project also

Here's mine. Hasn't been fired in 17 years.... for no good reason whatsoever! Danger to the public my arse!!

The Lynx is worse than the WK??

having a single threaded fastener in a dissimilar metal contain the entire recoil of the action cycling is a terrible idea.
If someone put a blowback upper on the lynx I would leave the range.

I assume you're talking about the modular stock mount and how it's attached? The lower uses the highest grade bolt available with ample thread engagement. The bolt is oversized for the application, and has enough thread engagement that it's not going to pull out. As for the dissimilar metal thing... Well the lower is anodized, and the bolt has anti-seize to prevent galling. It's no different than all the other steel fasteners into aluminum, like your grip screw. As for a possible failure mode, you'll see plastic deformation of the stock mount before anything sheared off, and to do that you'd need to be firing an over gassed 20Ă—138mmB probably.

In addition to the threaded bolt on the Lynx lower, there are a pair of non threaded locking posts built into the assembly to prevent the stock section and trigger group section from shimmying at all.

So uh, gas block height BUIS on that hand guard?

For the uninitiated, this is one of the first pictures of a firearm built with the J180 build kit in Canada. Sylvestre just started taking in store, phone and email orders for the kits. They may not get around to do a web page before this shipment sells out.

The R18 mk2

I will tentatively slot this in between the RWA 180B and the original 180B, based on design and material choices. it has potential to move up the list because of its controls but like the other all aluminum designs wear is a concern.
