Hey yall, I was working on some CAD/3D printing practices, and had quick question about interface between upper and lower receiver? I did have WK 180C once, but I long sold mine and can't seem to remember how it actually jointed upper and lower receivers.... anyone got picture and/or some dimensions they want to share to the rest of the class? Thanks in advance!

if there's anyone in KW region with wk 180c I can meet up for fitment, or if anyone wants to test the fitment for the original AR 180B, please let me know. Eager to see if it works.

The 180 (and maybe 18) are retained by the guide rods in the two upper holes and I believe the 180b is retained by a plate on the end of the guide rods that fits in the lower central hole.

I wouldn't worry about 3d printing unless you print and sell prohibs without a licence like the guy in the above quoted article did
 
Yeah, I'm scratching my head to figure out what the dimensions for lower central hole is.... I do have an order from kodiak themselves for some upper parts so maybe that'll shed some light. Ultimately want to make a simple 9mm blowback in the meantime, less hassle to worry about with gas system

I modeled and machined it myself years ago. I should really make another proper one now that I'm better set up. Spoiler: it doesn't fire. The fire control group is too high in relation to the firing pin, so can't hit it. Was still figuring out the dimensional differences between AR18 and AR15.

sure looks slick though Armedsask.
If the current rifles had functional lowers identical to what you have there , I would be on the 180b train. I just find the current lowers fugly and they don't look comfortable to me.
I have never held on of these rifles though so just judging by looks/ergonomic appearance.
 
The entire project idea was to make an "AR15" form lower that fit with the AR180 type upper. There are some issues, namely the magazine is further forward from that trigger group than on an AR15. This means most people can't reach the mag release with their finger like on an AR15. This, of course, could be reminded with a proprietary magazine catch.
