so I just got my midwest forearm and a tango down vertical grip(fromwolverine and they are awsome) today at about 5:00 pm and they are now on the gun
and dam$ does it look cool I only got one or two things left to do to it and it will be a pimpin unit
one problem the camera batteries are dead so ill get pics as soon as their charged

price was$295for the foreend and $91.25 for the vertical grip s&h was $12.50
cost abit but fcking worth it

Trim the front of the guide rods. Nothing serious at all, you only take about 7/8" off (the tapered portion).

Damn, I wish that was around before I spent over $500 putting the rail on mine. Then again, it free floats.

I was wondering how the handguards hook up to the front of the reciever the area where the barrel is screwed into the reciever.

all i did was take the old one off
take the guide rods and dremeled less than 5/16 (NOT 7/8) off of the tips (there is still a bevel left on the end)
then it was a matter of 4 screws for the hand guard and 2 for the sight
it came with kind of instructions but i did it in the dark while watching a movie
maybe 20 min and 10 mins were with the dremel
the barrel hooks to the reciever with plugs that fit into the hand gaurd and kept in place by pressure from the sight just like the stock one
THE GUIDE RODS WILL STILL WORK FOR THE FACTORY HAND GAURD
the barrel though isnt free floating it hooks up pretty much the same as the factory one but the top just unscrews (4screws) to acess the gas piston
