1847 Walker Replicas?

i'd be kind of intrested in one but what are you guys using for balls?- the one i saw years ago in dixie gun works was a 470 bore, and that's not a common ( read cast your own) bore size- i use a 452 SWC IN MY OLD ARMY

Very intersting, that must be what mine is. I though it had been rebored. I could not get any information on the gun because it was part of an estate sale. Luckily it came with a custom .476" conical mold from LBT. With the conicals it is a very accurate pistol. The only charge I shoot out of it is 55 grs of Goex 3F.

Just look at the avatar pic!

Got mine in the mail last week, now what? I'll admit I know nothing about these: what powder, bullet, etc. Also, I knew these were big, but c'mon! My elbow starts shaking just lifting the thing. I thought my old s&w .455 was a big pistol. Maybe these were made for big guys, I'm only 6'-4"/220 lbs.

They were meant to be carried and fired from horseback :)

Which must make them quite a bit a handful, trying to lift the loading arm which will fall down between shots and jam the cylinder LOL. Colt figured out a latch was a good idea for their next revolver ;)
