What were the original calibers for the 36 navy Remington factory conversions?
I've seen varying opinions about S&W cases with .375" heel based bullets, and even 38/40 (which should have required a new barrel as well).
Was there a standard (from Remington)? I know there was a lot of ad hoc conversion done in local shops.
