This fell out of the sky yesterday. I'll post a few pics and gather up any info I can. It will be for sale in a week or two.
Cadet carbines are generally safe as long as that bead doesn’t protrude into the bore and their no heavy pitting on the barrel or inside. Their just standard long rifles that were cut down for cadet use late 1800’s early 1900’s.They're fun guns, as you know, to shoot.
I have one that's been cut down for "Cadets."
Instead of the proper front sight, it had a shotgun type "brass bead" front sight installed.
I've never shot it, because I believe it was intended for blanks?
It's been FTRed, and looks incredible. Makes a great conversation piece with people who enjoy them.
Whoever cut that rifle down, did a good job. May have been done by a cottage shop to fill a rural need? They even soldered the proper front sight in place.
