Hello all:

I just picked up an 1871 Swiss Vetterli with all matching s/n in fairly decent condition. Unfortunately time in the past someone cut back the forestock. does anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement?

Always in demand are forestocks, endcaps, & cleaning rods. Barter & trade, & learn to woodwork. Wonderful guns to shoot. Relatively straightforward to convert to centerfire & reload for. Usually quite accurate, & a pleasure to shoot. Check out w w w.swissrifles.com for data etc.

PS Another black squirrel fell to one of mine yesterday...and a chunk of the tree.:D
 
I read where a lot were turned into lamps when they came into America by the shipload. I bet there are some around that were turned into lamps that had the bolts welded to the barel which you could get a forestock off of. I assume a deactivated as such rifle that is also an antique would not be too difficult to ship to Canada from the US.
