.....PLEASE REMOVE..THANKS GUN NUTS...............i will trade you good wishes if some one can tell me a basic value or any value for a 73 spingfield trap door rifle made in 1891 4570....stock has 2 old damage spots not so bad ...a coat of varnish ...surface rust in all the right corners....no rear sight....rust not..bad on the bbl ...the bore is horrible rust and the like NOT SAFE TO SHOOT ...this is a parts gun or wall hanger ....it all functions as it should and could be a shooter if not for the bore...any ideas on a value i would post pics if i knew how thanks don

Really hard to say given all the detracting points condition wise. It sounds like it's a wall hangar in it's current shape like you said and couldn't be made into a shooter without some serial commitment in time and cash. Honestly I think you'd be in the range of a few hundred dollars as a nice antique wall hangar unless there is something I'm missing.

If the action is good - you could buy it off him, re-barrel & I could build out a Gemmer Hawken for ya
