The long wait

Good choice on getting the Quigley in 45-70.

Three of my 45-70s have crescent butt plates as does a Rem. RB in .43 Spanish.
I don't enjoy shooting 500+ gr bullets without wearing a 'sissy pad' or one of the lace-on recoil pads from BACO.

I also have a dealer looking for one. I will only get one every 6 months to a year so not too bad on the wallet. Shiloh is 2 years behind. I wonder why they dont ramp up production? Maybe they cant get the craftsmen or they want to build a slow steady stream of orders or they dont want to make a big investment in capital.

Or because it keeps prices up, both for new and used guns.

Once you fire your Shilo Sharps a couple of times, you will understand why they don't "ramp up"!!!! If you want nothing more than a cheap replica, buy Italian.
 
I have both a Shiloh and a Pedersoli and both are in 45/70. As to accuracy both are true 1 and 1/2 inch at 100 yard rifles And will hold this minute of angle all the way out to 600 yards as far as i now shoot. If it is fit and finish the shiloh has it hands down over the Pedersoli.Pretty alone will not put meat on the table nor will it print small groups on the target.

They are down to 2 years now. I have purchased a 45/70 on here from another memebr and a 45/70 from Bill Goodman and ordered a 45/70 Quigley from Shiloh. I have also also bought a 40/65 from Shiloh that is already made. I should have the three within a month and the Quigley was estimated to take 2 years. I am sooooo busy my wait time will be finding the time to learn to reload.
 
I've been looking for the last 6months or so for a Sharps 1874 Quigley .45-110 I found a place in Waterloo Ont. that says that try to keep some in stock. They are Pedersoli made replicas. My question is if there is a difference between the Pedersoli and the Shiloh mentioned above in shooting quality.

The shiloh will keep up not to bad with the pedersoli if you do your part.

I own two Pedersoli Sharps rifles....both are accurate, well made, and a fraction of the price of a Shiloh........no question, the Shiloh will hold it;s value more than the Italian Pedersoli, but do not lump all Italian replicas in the same category....Pedersoli fit and finish is very good, but the same cannot be said for some of the other Italian knockoffs...

Shiloh has the reputation, and endless options, but for a quality made rifle that will hold it;s own with the US brands, buy a Pedersoli....
 
IMHO...scratch the Petersolomeo......and stick with either Shiloh or C. Sharps, both are made in the USA, dimensions ,materials, shape, match what one should look like. These guns should have snaubble (sp?) that looks right, pewter forends made of pewter, etc. Most of all they should shoot like no other....stick with Shiloh or C. Sharps or you will wish you had.
 
I have a shiloh with 2 at the border but I prefr the c. sharps. Nicer finish. A very professional looking piece of equipment. The finish on the shiloh isnt quite as slick.

I've got 3 Shiloh's a 45-90 a 40-90 and a 1 year old tricked out 45-110 with the best wood and finish.
Canada Post broke the stock damned near in half, but I fixed it and took the $2200 CP had to pay for their incompetence.
You'll love that rifle.
Here are my two fancy Shilohs.
The 40-90 is top and the 45-110 bottom.
I made the Bowie to go with my new Shiloh last spring.
