I'm looking at Montana vintage arms website and I'm not seeing any bases for 1876.
Any of you have input on vernier tang sight? Where to get. What fits. Would prefer vernier that doesn't hit the bolt as action cycles

I just installed a marbles standard tang sight on my uberti 1876 winchester in 50-95 express. Used the modle # MAR-009806 with screw set #995033. I did have to turn the upright post around to achieve enough height ( not sure if it was installed backwards at factory or not). Have attached the spec sheets for both the standard and improved tang sights from marbles website.

I ordered a used Pedersoli Creedmoor long range sight from rustywood that a forum member private message me about. I had rustywood sit it on one of his original 1876 winchesters and he said it worked on it but made no guarantees about it fitting my reproduction. Said the sight clears the bolt and the angle of the sight staff is adjustable with the detent at the base so hopefully it works because no returns on consignment.

Have you done much shooting past 100 yards with her? How does she shoot?

I just got it late this fall, sighted it in at 100 with the factory iron sights. The rear buckhorn sight i found to be a little too wide for the front sight fore my liking, so thats why i went looking for a tang peep sight.
Found it perfered the heavier 450 grain slugs sized to .514 over the original 300's. Does good with trail boss and Jim Shockey black gold powders. Waiting till spring to continue more load developments but have achieved under 3 inch groups @ 100YD using the factory sights. The tang sight should get things tighter and will start stepping out farther with the tang sight and record amount of clicks per range.
