The 2003 Standard Catalog of Firearms lists the Model 1886 at from $1500 to $6000 in Good condition. In Very Good condition they run from $3000 to $12000. 10% premium for rifles built before 1898.

Pretty much impossible to tell from those photos. The receiver does appear to be the older black powder frame, which should have been case hardened not blued. The photos make it look as if it is blued. Also, the edges of the loading gate cover seem to be buffed. If the receiver is blued, then the gun has probably been re-blued, which would substantially diminish the value of the rifle. However, the photos are bad and I could be mistaken. How does the stamping on the barrel look? ..... sharp or buffed? There should be no blue on the muzzle of the barrel. If there is, then it has been re-blued.

If the gun is all orig. and in good shape $2500.....otherwise one would have to know what all isn't orig. but price could easily be down 50%.

its a 1887 build date which has been reblued, and the reciever has been blued the bore is as new condition on it, not a blemish still has tooling marks on the lands and grooves. I shot it yesterday and it shoots great and functions perfect with 405 grain factory winchester ammo, the ammo is old but still works, shame about the case being removed but it is what it is, its for sale on the for sale section and have better pics thanks for your info Don
