Absolutely stunning rifles. I own a Tac Ops X-Ray 51, which I had Mike make with a Surgeon DBM.
The level of detail that goes into these rifles is stunning. Mike R is OCD on every rifle he builds, and it shows. I've heard someone say that he is the Hattori Hanzo of the precision rifle world - which I think is fitting.
Every single edge of metal on that gun is radiused. The heads of the screws on the anschutz rail are all perfectly timed with each other. The engraving on the barrel (cartridge, manufacturer) is all hand engraved - old school style. The Walter Birdsong finish is amazing - self lubricating with a silky smooth feel, with durability and corrosion resistance. The texturing is beautifully done and a nice functional touch. He machines "mud gutters" in the action for durability in increment conditions. He has a process in which his barrels are torqued to ~500 ft-lbs, making it impervious to any zero shifting.
Not only that, but his guns absolutely hammer with FGMM 168 factory ammo. Guaranteed to 1/4 MOA or better precision. Over 800 alphabet agencies have had rifles built by Tac Ops.
Are they for everyone? No. But for those that can appreciate how special they are and the level of care and detail that goes into them, they are essentially functional pieces of art.
