I've got a Chiappa 1892 lever action take down in 44mag, the Wanstalls version. Runs flawlessly with most ammo I've tried. Very happy with the gun.
Now, I have a boat load of Buffalo Bore 305gr hard cast and its loaded a little bit longer in overall length. Would not make a difference in a revolver, but in the lever action it requires a little "lever wiggling" to feed up properly. Once you jiggle the action a bit, it feeds and is very accurate to 25 yards for wildlife defence, its just not as smooth of a feed as Hornady 44mag or Federal 240gr HP or FMJ.
I can always load more shorter hard cast, but can these actions be worked a little to feed the slightly longer overall length? I'd like to use this gun with this ammo, but I can always load hard cast shorter at lower velocity too.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
