1892 winchester 44-40

well guys I just picked this gun up today. it is a winchester 1892 saddle ring carbine in 44-40. the wood I can tell has had a light sanding wich has taken the finnish of and then mabey a coat of light tung oil. it shoots great though.
I was just wondering what you guys can tell me about it. 1894's are more my thing. It still has the saddle ring and it also has sling swivels. the swivles I was able to find in the book of winchesters so I am guessing they are real.
what else can you guys tell me. I am keeping it for now but am cutious how I did as far as value. here are some pics.

I should ad that there is no blueing on the reciever, some blueing on the barrel and pretty god blueing on the magazine. the bore has a bit of light pitting but not to bad, still lots of rifleing. and the serial # is 4###XX

Could be 1907 or 1908 manufacture year. The sanding (UGH) should not have happened as it seems to have made the wood shy of the action tang.This can change the "value" of the piece as the gun is considered altered.... as well as the pitting in the barrel.. The marks by the trigger and lever are inspector marks. It is a very collectible caliber.

The value is what someone is willing to pay for it. A guess on your guns value ....between $400-$700...IMO..
