1895 win 38-72

i have just been handed down a 1895 win with a octagon barrel in 38-72 wcf
the serial #3*** the gun is in pretty good shape no rust or many scratches or any thing wood is pretty good. does anyone know what this thing is worth??i may be intersted in selling it

That's a tough one bud!
Grey 95s generally go $500 but a hex definately adds to the value:)
38-72 however is a toughy, it's hard & expensive to load for!
I'm gonna say $650 ?? for the gun, if it's got good rifleing,
a lot of them didn't :(

The bore on that baby will be as good as a bore can be on a gun that burnt sulphur and corrosive primers...To get an idea you'll have to post a pic..Oct is even more rare than hex...Just foolin with ya. Round barells(belive it or not)were rarest,far less made despite popular belief..Wheres this hex come from???Depending on pics you might be holding a tire iron or 2 grand
