1895 winchester

I just got a 1895 30 US it shoots well . the action is smooth and tight . but it looks like an old rancher used it to build a fence . i am going to make new wood for it and refinish the metal parts ....so here is my queston . was the rear stock a perch belly ? i have looked at pictures and can`t really tell
