Well I know little on the history of this gun, other than a buddy of mine brought it to me without a bolt and I put one together for it, not an original bolt. He has since decide to sell it to me and I have located a parts rifle for it with an original bolt, so I will be trying to make this rifle complete. I have done a little reading on it, just over 15000 produced between 1895 and 1902, used for the boar war in Africa, Lee Metford receiver with a Lee Enfied rifle to handle pressure for the new smokeless powder cordite round. This is an original wood, not cut down, with decent rifling. Does not have the original leather cover for the rear site, but will be complete with the cleaning rod, if I remember correctly. I do believe 900 were modified and brought to Canada for the RCMP, this is not one that I know of. This has no bayonet lug son not an Irish modified issuance. Looking for anyone with info and value ideas. Will get some pictures later this week. Been having no luck finding anything in Canada and the auction sites hide their sold prices.
