1898 martini metford

Just put a deposit on a cavalry carbine in .303. Dark bore, but smooth with quite strong rifling present. Very tight action, locks up and functions like it`s brand new. Don`t have any pics, next time i`m down I`ll take a few.
Anyone have any experience with these? I`m assuming it is nitro proofed, but if it`s Black powder only, well that matters too....i won`t mind burning holy black in it.

Would cast or jacketed be recommended?

Excited about brining it home already.

If your carbine has metford rifling, i would use cast

You bet! Makes me think, I should start loading for my Lee Metford carbine, it would be cool to compete with that one

I do hope to get back there at least one more time for a visit and a shoot- nothing like that going on out this way that i`m aware of
