Looking for help ! I know pics are a must, but cant seem to post them.
I have a 1902 Mauser 98 in 7.92x57. This gun is origenal with sling and bayonet. All numbers match.

Can someone help me post pics?

I'm looking for knowledge about this gun.

Thanks Doug

Well, if it's original German, it should be marked "J.G. 98" on the left-hand receiver rail.

It was originally built to handle the old 1888 loading of the cartridge: 227-grain .318" bullet. In 1904/5, they were reworked to handle the later high-velocity loading with a 154-grain .323" bullet. Rifles so modded will display a letter "S", about a quarter-inch high, near the chamber.

This is the correct World War One rifle.

Who made it?

Congrats... and have fun!

Try uploading them to imageshack.us or get a photobucket.com account, then you'll be able to just copy and paste the link with code so it works.
