Went to a Museum about 20 minutes from home. The Rock Island Arsenal Museum. Thousands of Milsurp guns of many types. Here is an eye catcher. The first off the production line in 1904 at the RIA. Center rifle.

Interesting how light the stock is. Most times I see a stock that light online, people are crapping all over how it must be fake because it's not stained darker. Thanks for posting it.

Many of the guns when manufactured did have light stocks. Guns of all types have some light walnut on them.
