1903 Springfield Mounts

I've got a real nice 1903 Springfield sporter and at some point Bubba drilled the receiver top for a Redfield one piece base. Unfortunately the holes are slightly misaligned. I could fill the rear hole with weld and redrill and tap the hole but the steel thickness where the bolt moves through the receiver is a little thin for my liking, not enough thread engagement to suit me. Are there any side mounts available that look classy(not a Weaver)? It is a real classic looking sporter and I don't want to ruin the lines of the rifle. I read somewhere Griffin and Howe still make a side mount but very pricey. Any suggestions?
