Hi, i recently purchased a NOS springfield A4 bolt off ebay, and upon opening it was rather dissapointed. Having never seen one up close i dont know what they're supposed to look like. Anyways, this bolt looks like it was heated and bent with a blowtorch, as it has some small horizontal cracks along the bends. If anyone could help out in this matter by providing some detailed pics of their bolt(if anyboby has one) would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

1903 bolts always were bent down as opposed to the straight Mauser bolt. If yours shows some cracks, you may able to get it rewelded if you're worried about the handle breaking off. Minor, shallow cracks probably won't matter too much.

When the 1903A3 bolts were sold as surplus many dealers modified them to clear a scope. These would resemble a 1903A4 bolt. I beleive it was Numrich among many others sold them for years.
