I have had this rifle for over 30 years and it was my Fathers before that. I would like some help on what it is. The barrel identifications make me think its an older barrel with a new stock, but I'm just not sure. The year on the receiver of 1905 does'nt make much sense either as a 30/06. I would appreciate any help that some may have. The link will take you to some pictures of the rifle.
On the receiver it has the following
Waffenfabrik
Mauser A-G
Oberndorf a/n
1905
It has three symbols (proof markings) on the right side of the receiver and GEW98 on the right with an eagle. All this can be seen on the pics, the symbols are on the second page of the pics
I posted once before without any pics and had a reply how I new it was a 30/06, I shot this rifle as a teenager and on the barrel infront of the receiver it has it stamped. This too can be seen on the pics
