Is that just really crappy video of Bushwacker's hunt?
You can definitely see how hunting was a rich man's thing in those days. Who would go hunting with a tie today?
Ordinary people were hunting for survival, not for "sport".
You can also figure how uneasy it was to make a "live" movie... Since the films were so expensive, they had to wait untli the moose is down and then make "reenactment" of the kill....

I like the whole adventure, train, horse and buggy, canoe......only thing different with my hunt last year is the technology. Truck, quad, canoe.

They didn't have any scopes, the guns they made in those days were not powerful enough to shoot a moose at more then 30 yards and I didn't see a nosler commercial so I call B.S. on the whole thing.
I did like seeing the fireman shovelling the coal on the train that is classic!

Movie photography was barely born in 1905, what did you expect, Technicolor?
That's a great film of a classical early hunt. And by the way, this was not a bushwhackers hunt, this was a guided trip, probably pretty expensive, for the time. Meat and survival hunters don't go hunting, wearing their jacket and tie!

I will have you know that was a, "team and wagon." A buggy is a very lightly constructed piece of equipment, with large diameter, but very skinny wheels, designed for faster travel with one horse and only a load of a couple of people, to be used on good roads.
And Maddog, when I saw the Savage I was just about to post a note for you, something like, "Where's Maddog?"

Heh - I love that daffy goof in the white suit waving at everything in sight because the camera's going. I half expected the dude at 46 seconds to smack him upside the head like in a chaplain movie
