yesterday i found a ross...of course it has been basterdized . the forestock has been chopped off and all the markings on the butt stock have been sanded off.

so is it even possible to find wood for this rifle .

its a m1910 mk2

I got a card off of a guy at the Edmonton gun show who makes stocks, I didn’t ask about what ones he made but the quality of the ones he had there was good, won’t be original but it works. PM me and I can text or email the pic of his business card if your interested.
 
FP, It is not what you time is worth, it is what the market will bear.you priced yourself out of the market,
stoggie did not charge that much.

That’s why I’m not doing them anymore. Working for free sucks. You can always turn out an inferior product for cheap, but in something like stock making, why would you? It’s supposed to be a craftsman’s game. And at the number of Ross stocks a guy would actually do its better to do them right. Mine were done, fitted, with springs and rivets installed when they arrived at their owners doorstep. Ross handguards often split when you install the springs. If these guys are able to do that for less than $300 then power to them.
