Heya guys.
I just got my 1907 bayonet from the No1. MIII.
Ive basically sold all my military surplus guns and kept my favorite, so I thought I would treat myself with the bayonet.
There are some bits of rust and grime. Should I clean it up? Any suggestions how??
The back end of the blade (not in pics) looks all rainbow colouyred like it was in a fire. Did the soldiers use these as cooking rods over the fire??
I could also use some help from you guys to identify some of these markings. I am looking at various websites and lists trying to match the markings with not much luck. That may just be due to the markings being a bit worn off on my bayonet.
On the butt end of the handle, what does that say to you?? Does it look like a woen out 'D' than a 'F'? Is there a extremely faded 'N' between them??
Any thoughts you guys have have is greatly appreciated
Thanks!
