1907 BSA MkIII

You lucky son of a gun!!! That is one beautiful piece of military history. How's the bore? I love the fact that it's complete with the mag cut-off, volley sights, and the adjustable rear sight. Add to that the fact that it's numbers matching and you have a rarely lovely Lee Enfield. I have a nice one (not as nice as yours perhaps) that was my last Lee Enfield acquisition. I'd always looked for a No.1 MK.III in walnut and just dumb luck that I ran into an older gentleman selling off the firearms from a widow's estate. Needless to say, I snapped it up as soon as I saw it. It's a MK.III* made by B.S.A. in 1918.

That's a lovely old rifle. Is the 3MD stamped into the butt as well?

Interesting the serial number being restamped into the forend.

Seen it before but it always impresses.

HarryD, the butt has been changed but has a 3 over a rack number, will do a photo over the weekend along with a nosecap s/n pic.

Nice shooting mate.

Lou not sure about the 2079 but most likely both numbers are inventory numbers rather than serial numbers.
