1907 Savage pocket pistol

It is a heavy (all steel) pistol. Need a strong pocket.

I have one I inherited from my father. When he went off to war he gave it to my mother to carry for her personal protection. She (and I) lived in a fairly remote cabin.

Until I started watching some YouTube videos, I did not know that it was a striker (not hammer) pistol and that the barrel rotated to lock up.

One of the early promoters of the Savage pocket pistols was Bat Masterson. I have one (also from my Dad) and I recall him using it to shoot grouse while deer hunting...

I own 2 of them, one with the early extractor, and one with the later version. I noticed the hit man in "Road to Perdition" was a fan.

Interesting handgun for sure! Seeing one chambered in .45acp would be real neat.

The Savage Model 1907 was interred in the trials that selected the Colt 1911.

You can see an original model Savage in 45acp that was submitted for the US Army gun trials at the NRA Museum.
The NRA had the gun in a display case for all to see at one of the past SHOT SHOW in Las Vegas.

Neat guns, I have a 1907 & 1917 in .380, with the factory 107mm barrel they are just barely restricted.

Mine is a 1915 in .380. It's such a modern pistol for such an early design. I really enjoy the small, all-steel early pistols. Such attention to detail.
