I picked up 2 boxes of the 190gr Accubond Long Range today for a good price.

Reloading for a Ruger No1B in 300 win mag. So a 26" barrel.

Any experience with these bullets?

What I have on hand is 7828 SSC and regular, 4831, 4350. 7977.

Hunting loads.

The more I have been reading about these. Seems there isn't a lot of love for them. Maybe I should have gone with the regular 180 Accubonds.
 
I shoot the 210 LRAB out of my #1B Ruger, chambered in 308 Norma Magnum. Big dose of Retumbo with the bullet seated at .010"
off the lands. Shoots sub MOA out to 500 meters, and the moose I shot with this rifle/load last fall was NOT impressed....death came
quickly, and the bullet was a passthrough. Dave.
 
I tried some 190ABLR on the 300RUM and couldn’t get them to shoot under 1.5” probably because I couldn’t get close enough to the lands. I wanted to be able to mag feed em.
 
My ruger #1 likes.
2.930 using hornady block 8-30..
I would guess 2 thoa. Back from lands.
H-1000 @ 75.3 to gave me good ES. at 2930
@ 75.6 also nice ES at 2958
5/8 groups at 100 yards.
Federal brass
Fed 215 M ..

I agree these boolits are fussy when loaded to far from the lands

This pattern may also suggest that as they are closing up at 0.130" off getting closer to your 0.190", but in my case a very compressed load(at 0.130").I used the berger method on this particular session.
 
I usually don't mess with seating depth, at least not in the last few years. In this rifle, I just matched the OAL of the factory load that shot well in the rifle

Going through my notes, I shot the 190gr ABLR in my 308 Norma Mag. Limited my mag box length, and a generate freebore, this puts the ogive .232" off the lands. I only shot one group, but it did a 1.05moa 3 shot @ 100y
 
190ABLr are sub MOA from my 300, jump to lands is .over .100.

I don’t adjust seating depth either, tune accuracy with powder charge. Easy peasy.

Like many others I used to play with seating depth until I found a less finicky way.

As I am not disagreeing with anyone's method but I think that with all these different bullet designs and choices it is/was inevitable that reloaders try different methods.

I typically still do as you until I hit grief with particular bullets , so I'm starting to try different seating depths as I know certain powders are more prone to perform well on average in particular chamberings.
 
Going to start with 7828, 4350, and have lots of 4831 too.

My COAL Seems long at 3.625. bullet jammed at 3.665. Could see faint marks on the bullet at 3.655. So ended up at 3.625.

Ruger No1 so length isn't really an issue.

But the nosler data says 3.330"

Seating to around 3.570 would put full bullet shank/neck contact, that would be my preference. I like as much neck/bullet shank contact as I can get on a 300wm, Bullet jump would be around .085"
