Hi
I hope this is the right forum, I am not planning to be shooting targets at 900 meters in competition but want to get tight groups at moderate ranges while using a piece of Canadian military history at the same time.
I have this 1910 Ross receiver that I am thinking to converting to 307 Winchester.
Why? I want to take advantage of the superlative trigger on the Ross and yet have a cartridge that I can easily reload for with lots of bullet and barrel choices.
I was going to go 308, but extractor would have to be extensively modified and the large bolt face might allow the empty casing to slide to the side during extraction.
307 would allow me to use everything 308 except the brass
Am I traveling down the wrong road here?
What do you think?
