Hi Folks,
the Sig 1911-22 was not cycling well the other day, using ammo it usually works well with. I am giving it a good cleaning but am still unsure of the assembly.
There is a washer (circled in red) that is not shown in my Sig manual. There is a #73 on the parts list "Disc" but no #73 in the exploded parts diagram. I may have had this spring under the spring on the guide rod but I think it might need to be in front of the spring in the front bushing.
Any folk dealt with this one??

What I found...

Had the same issue on my first disassembly for cleaning. This belongs on the guide rod, before the spring, acts as a spacer to increase spring tension with HV ammo.

In the Sig1911-22 manual on page 54, Item 74 is shown in the Parts Diagram. On page 55, Item 74 is identified as the "Guide Rod Disk".

What I found...

My manual only has 35 pages. In my photo, the white nylon disc on my guide rod..it would be part #74.
In the manual it lists part #74 as "Cachedisk (Pufferscheibe)".
It lists part #73 as "Disk (Scheibe)".
The part circled in my photo is a shaped steel washer.

Manual I found is correct what I quoted. Maybe newer models they replaced the spring, so the guide rod spacer wasn't required. Maybe you got a older model.

And the steel washer goes behind the spring, but in front of the buffer.

Correct me if i am wrong, some of the older Sig 22 had different guide rod and they do not have the washer.
somewhere in the last year or 2 ( well at least mine), had changed the design of the guide rod and mine has the washer

I’m pretty sure if you run the buffer you need the washer...otherwise the spring would trash the buffer when cycling...always fun to do a tear down the first time on a new to you firearm.....enjoy...it’s a fun pistol..

Thanks for the input fellas.
OkayShooter: that manual you linked to is different from mine for sure. However it still lists part number 73 (Guide Rod Bushing) which does not show up in the diagram.
My manual's cover looks like this:
2cxvC2Z

sky52 : I think you may be correct. I believe this one is less than two years old.
Import: that is making more sense now about being under the spring. I have also seen a disassembly on youtube where you can see the washer when the guy takes the slide apart.

This forum drives me bonkers. Why will it not let me post photos, only links to photos??
...as for the link to my manual, I just went back to flickr and the photo is gone! Are they anti-gun?
