Im in the market for something a bit cheeper to shoot but I like the glock and I like the 1911. I have my eyes on a browning 1911 compact or an advantage arms 22 conversion kit for glock 17. I dont want to go through the hassle of registering another handgun and blah blah blah. But the 1911 is really sweet. I love the fact that i could convert my glock to 22 but i have heard some negative things about the conversion kit. Just looking for thoughts you guys might have :)

I have the AA conversion on my Gen 3 G17.

It works flawlessly especially with high velocity CCI Mini Mags.

I have 2 other rimfire pistols plus 2 rimfire revolvers but I like the AA conversion as it lets me practice with my house defense G17 very cheaply.

Practice makes perfect.

I have Kimber .22lr kit, Ruger MK3 and few other .22lr pistols. For accuracy and pure pleasure shooting 22lr nothing beats Ruger MK3 Target. Kimber .22 is alright but not as fun nor accurate as the Ruger.

Also shot the AA for Glock and its ok. It made already a light gun lighter so much that it felt like a cheap toy.

Go with a dedicated .22 over a conversion kit.

I've been thinking the same thing, I'll probably get both in the long run, especially when I get a .45 1911. Where can an AA conversion be found in Canada?
