I have feed issues with my mixmaster build just wondering if any one else has a problem with blazer ammo feeding before I strip my 1911 and try and fix the feed ramp

Careful polishing without changing the angle, is the most a layman should undertake on the feedramp, if at all.

The magazine can be a culprit as well as the extractor.

This is assuming factory hardball jacketed 230 grain roundnose ammo.

Fmj 230 grain roundnose aluminum cases.. Only jams on the first round when I let go of the slide

I kinda thought it was the aluminum cases.... I will put some high end stuff in it next week and see if it was just that ammo

I dont think its the pistol It has top of the line parts on it

Take out the recoil buffer.

first thing i'd do is switch to BRASS ammo- then change magazines- the LAST thing i'd do is monkey with the feedramp- that's a job for a smith that knows what he's doing

Wilson combat mags don't jam. . Its most likely the buffer I will pull it out and try that

HA ram the bullet nose against the front of the mag or make your overall length too long and they'll jam, just like everyone else- and i have wilsons, btw- i've also got some cheap 5 buck south americans that are just as good

i run a full-length solid rod in mine with no problems, but NO BUFFER- i have about 40 magazines- some usgi, some wilson( exactly 2) and some south american 5 buck specials- these came niw in either blue or chrome( you don't get stainless at that price) and, about half didn't work, or got "caught " in the frame- they're SUPPOSED to drop free when you hit the button- i swapped bodies , springs and followers back and forth, and turned the springs round on some- that got me another 12 - and i broke the rest in using just a frame and no barrel- now they ALL work, all the time

My 10rnd c.m is the worse mag ever that thing wont even feed one round the follower was screwed right out of the package

That sort of thing - poor QC - sometimes happens regardless of the brand. If that ever happens, just return the faulty magazine immediately for exchange or refund.

P.S.: If you bought it from Brownells, your satisfaction is guaranteed, forever.

Are you using the slide release or pulling back on the slide to allow it to let go? Use the slide release only! People tend to pull back on the slide but not let it go and kinda hang on to it as it goes forward, slowing it up a little and causing jams.
