1911 45 what would you buy

If you can stretch your budget a bit Freedom Ventures has the STI Trojan on for $1300 (down from 1599 I think) as one of their Black Friday specials. I have had one for a couple of years and it's been flawless for me.

I may get flamed for this but I have never had any issues with my Kimber 1911. It's the Custom II Two-tone and I bought it for $1150 new last winter.

So I've got the 45 bug and currently have a Glock 21sf.
I have owned many 1911 style in 9mm but never 45
What's a good buy in the $1000.00 to $1200.00 range
Thanks

I would (and did) buy a Ruger SR1911. Has proven to be a pretty damn good gun. Accurate, reliable and looks good. The only trouble being poor quality magazines which is typical of guns in this class.

I owned an SR1911.

Having owned several other 1911s, including a new Colt Series 70, I would have to disagree with you about the magazines.
They were of excellent quality.

any 1911 in 45acp is good in my book. most of them will be more accurate than the shooter anyway. Personally I have the ruger SR1911, out of all my pistols/revolvers, I shoot it most accurately, even better than my cz tactical in 9mm. considering the fact that I got it for less than 7xx less than 2 years ago, it's an amazing gun. even with the price right now, I would say it's well worth it.

Not a fan of 1911's. Shot and owned both Full and Commander sized and personally prefer the Full sized.
If I were to add one to my collection (at ~$1,000) I would get the Springfield armory milspec. I like the Classic look.
