1911 8rnd mag advice needed.

been using both the 8m and 19 round mcCormicks for years ( probably 15- 20K rounds, spread over 12 8 rounders and 6 10 rounders with no sprong issues whatsoever).

the bumper pads on the 10 rounders did interfere with my Smith & alexander magwell so i shaved the pads. anither guy i talked to at the IPSc natiionals had opened up his magwell for the same reason.

The follower on the CMC can sometimes 'jump over' the slide stop, locking the mag in the gun on my Para LTC. It never did this on my Norinco.

By design the follower on the Wilson's mag will NEVER do this.

Wilson's is recognized as one of the finest magazines.

Call Chris Mitchell at P&D and he will set you up with some excellent Wilson's mags.

Ive recently tried Tripp Cobra mags in both 8 and 10 rd varieties for 45acp.They are really very nice, great quality, and feed very reliably.Ive got a 1911 that was never really reliable with either the CMC or Wilson mags, but works great with the Tripp mags,Ive used them for quite a while now with the same mag springs and with no problems at all

X2 on the Tripp Cobra mags.

Can't go wrong with Wilson stainless. I bought 8 rounders, because I don't care for the 10 rounders sticking out the bottom of my gun. And that is the only reason why I will never make it into the top ten at the IPSC nationals. :p

I have 1x8rd McCormack, 6x 8rd Wilson and 6x 10 rd Wilsons that have fired at least (being conservative) at least 30,000 plus rds since the early 90's. I like them and have no trouble recommending them. If you do have a problem, Wilson has an excellent warranty.
