... my Para experience was not good.

The finish peeled right out of the box. Why was I the first to notice?

Evidently, they coat the soft, light alloy with a plastic paint.

I decided to go for steel instead, since light-weight carry is not an issue, and found this:

No paint or light-weight compromise. Just solid 1911 awesomeness.

You can get them at www.freedomventures.ca

I had an STI Ranger II in 9mm...thing was a fricking laser! Too pretty though for me...I couldn't bring myself to roll over it on the ground and such.

I got mine from Gunnar at Armco.;)

Seriously, do yourself a favor and go for the STI over the Para. Mine is "a frickin' laser" too, and it has surpassed my 226ST as the favorite 9mm in the safe.

If you're in the market in a month or two, we are bringing in the Dan Wesson Guardian bobtail in 9mm.

Yes, we are expecting the CCO in 45 at the same time too.

K.O.

thank you my friends, anyone know who carries them?

Will that STI accept PARA LDA mags

You can buy STI pistols from Gunnar at Armco Machine and Plating in BC, or from Roger at Shooter's Choice in Alberta, or from Sean at Freedom Ventures in Halifax, NS. All are reputable dealers.

Roger offers a slightly lower price by charging only GST (and shipping of course) than the other two dealers. He and Gunnar might have to order the 9mm STI Ranger II or III model in for you, whereas Sean probably has these models in stock at present.

LL:)

PS - As mentioned by someone else, stay away from Para LDA mags and go with Kimber 9 round or Wilson Combat ETM 10 round mags. You pay more for the latter two but you won't be disappointed.
