Since I'll soon be recieving my Norc 1911a1 police, I'm wondering about aftermarket parts. Are parts made by other manufacture's dimensionally compatible with each other? It seems that things like springs need to be repalced from time to time, and barrel bushings aren't always as snug as they could be. Then there's the issue of shipping, seeing as most parts are of U.S manufacture, and restrictions being what they are is it still possible to order them in? What parts should be kept on hand or replaced to make the gun as reliable and accurate as possible? I'm not trying to build a match gun, just a reliable pistol that isn't going to batter itself loose or anything. What do you recommend?

The problem with Norc's is if you put 1000$ on them with Wilson's Combat accessories etc, at the end it is still a Norc, if you would decide to sell it.

I'm getting Night sights installed & a trigger job done on my 1911C but it is your money so it's your call.

Definitley not looking to spend lots of money, just basic maintenance andif necessary some cheap upgrades,if such a thing exists. Like I said, not looking to make a match pistol,as long as it's reliable and shoots straight.

If this is so I would seriously look for another beaver tail safety, the Norc leaves an imprint on your hand & is quite unconfortable when firing numerous rounds & mag changes etc.

Sight are ok, the whole pistol could use some filing down externally & internally though.

I may get another 1911C, just for parts since they are so affordable & dependable.

my .2 cents
