Hello all,

Wondering if anyone knows of a 1911 ambi safety that isn't the tang style. Im looking for one that would hopefully have a screw of some type to keep it on or some other ingenius way other than just pushing the two halves together. I hate the tang and am tired of losing the right side of my safety after 300rnds or so...

nope, and I dont want to modify them for the tang so I usually cut it off... I know the SVI's use the screw but at $90 USD they are a little steep.

Well if you make the minor cut to the grips they hold the safety on using that tang....

Hmmm, it was designed to work like this so I'll cut off the important bit and then whine about how it doesn't work... Tell me do you put water in your car and then complain that it doesn't start?

A Kings Gunworks ambi safety is the one you want. Instead of that little tang, it uses an extended hammer pin that rides in a small dovetail on the underside of both safeties.

I'm not whining on how it doesnt work, I know if you cut it off its not going to work thats why I'm asking what uses a set screw! I'm not asking why it wont work or what tang I can cut off to work better... But thanks for your input, I haven't had my weekly dose of troll...
