1911 barrel bushing.

A question to all 1911 gurus: does this much gap between barrel bushing and slide look normal to you? The gun is almost new.

No, it's just a regular bushing(1911 in question is a repro 70's series). I tried it without barrel and it fits a bit tighter; seems like there's some play in a bushing/slide fit. Is it normal in 1911's???
 
Properly fitted barrel bushing should be tight in the slide. You shouldn't be able to turn it without a wrench. Also the muzzle of the barrel should have no play in the bushing when the gun is in battery. If these conditions are not met the accuracy will suffer.

For match accuracy, but the average soldier who was issued a 1911 probably didn't have or need a bushing wrench.
How does it shoot?
 
I've shot it today and the results were satisfactory...(I haven't shot 1911 in awhile). Not match grade type of grouping, however an average shooting was more than likely a result of Wolf reloads and a lack of my 1911 shooting skills..............................
