Hi all,

I’m on the hunt for some 1911 8 round base plates. I bought a 4 pack of Italian made magazines from Corwin Arms a couple of years ago and have since split 2 of the base plates at the rails resulting in a spectacular explosion of ammo and mag internals at $70 for 4 I’m by no means upset. The problem I’m having though is finding or identifying aftermarket plates that use the “rails out” design as opposed to “rails in” like the Wilson's or Colt’s.

Is there a plate readily available from a site sponsor or maybe a proper name of the magazine type/style to search for?

pics would help alot. Iirc rail in was Wilson, out was McCormick ( which is now Wilson ). Italian usually means Mecgar. Shouldn't be hard to fix, they're very popular.

Sorry to rehash this thread still on the hunt for parts they mags themselves have been replaced in service by Tripp Research ones.

Contacted Mec-Gar and they confirmed they were theirs gave me the contact information for Gravel Agency then two days later in very direct response denied they were theirs, that no parts were interchangeable and to look at a company called ACT which is another Italian firm. I’m not sure if multiple people answer the same email account but quite a change in demeanour from one day to the next, needless to say I’m glad I didn’t order any parts.

I have emailed Corwin but it’s been over a week and no response; does anyone have a phone number for them so I can contact them directly? I get the impression that companies think I’m looking for a handout when I just want to buy some parts even stating in the initial email “I want to BUY replacement parts”.
