Getting ready to get back at it and want my build a bit different than last time.
Anyone running dawson precision ipsc legal magwell in 40?
I wonder if i should get 9R-10mm tubes or 10R-10mm tubes w/trimmed basepad from Tripp?

With the techwell i had to use the 10R tube btw as it was a deep well
 
Yep
You can build your own system mags from spare parts if need be once they start breaking
Aaron from tripp research told me they don't have anything special, only a 10 rounds 10MM tube, with a 45acp hybrid follower (which limits capacity to 9 by design), and a regular basepad trimmed at an angle for box fitting

At the time he had 2 "system" mags
This specific one was called corey system, and i ordered them as is


Edit: just found a 9R-10mm tube in my basement, my question will self answer once gun gets here.

Marty, my DVC Classic 40 is using a Dawson IPSC Legal Magwell (That's what they come with) and I use 10 Round 10mm system mags. Works great and box-checked!

Trying to get all my parts together in time before trojan 40 transfer completes (just purchased the DP magwell from your shop)
To get in it quicker i will hold out on DVC classic for now but can't wait to get one!

In the past i was using techwell, i am also curious to see the DP to compare design and longevity.
As techwells wore off to the point mags would catch in funnel within 6-7 months if i was intense in dry fire

Edit : Also ordered system, went with the corey system which replaces flex follower by 45 solid follower. 1 less round extra reliability, i don't shoot minor anyways.

Order them directly at trip

You can either order a system mag : 10 round tube, flex follower, shaved base pad
Or corey mag (what i ordered ) : 10 round tube, ridgid follower (capacity drops to 9) , shaved basepad

Will you sell magwells only eventually? As in seperate from MSH.
Did 3-4 hours of dry fire since received it and must of done 200+ reloads, juste to test it out good.
I see myself prefering this magwell to the techwell, but i also see it scratching as fast as techwell. And on techwell i'd change it every 8-9 months, because it reaches a point where all the deep scratched catch on the mag sliding on well.

Sean will any of the different Dawson magwells work with Shooting Star mags for .45 acp or will I need new magazines? Looking to upgrade my classic gun. Thanks
