Hey everyone,

I am looking to replace my barrel bushing on my 1911 as there is now a 1/8" gap between the bushing and the slide where its suppose to hold the cap on the recoil spring. This is a full length wilson combat guide rod and high power recoil spring, I am looking for something with so more meat on it to try and help with deflection.

Anyone know anywhere?

Or if anyone has one for sale?

thanks
Jeff

If there's a 1/8" gap, something is terribly wrong. However, any bushing will fit. Commanders and Government models use the same bushing.

measuring the inside diameter of the bushing vertical its .580 horizontal its .591 or larger, Seems to me the bushing is just plain worn out on it. and your sure that a Gov model bushing will fit even though its longer then the Commander bushing?

Look at EGW, they cut bushings made to order and ship to Canada. It's about as good as custom fit...they also make thin and thick flange, flat or bevel.

Buy an oversized GOV bushing from Brownells, send slide/barrel/bushing to gunsmith for fitting, cost $50 or so....
Brownells has some sizes of EGW and ship for $10...could buy one close to size.

The problem with buying a generic drop in bushing is that it may not fit any better then the one you have in there now....
Armco and Dark International may have some for sale if you want to call them up.

No they don't, commander bushing is considerably shorter than GOV...you drop a GOV in a commander and fire it, bad things will happen to your gun.
