I'm soon going to be starting a commander build, and I need everything but the frame... anyone know if there's a source for Caspian slides in Canada? Or am I going to have to get this stuff imported? Should I ask Dlask for a slide?

I am partial to Fusion kits...which are now offered by Wanstalls. That is of course if you want to start from scratch. Otherwise I'd build up a Colt.
 
There were both Caspian and Dlask commander slides for sale on the EE (they were either stainless or in the bright, I don't recall.). Brace yourself for the price though lol. I fitted Nighthawk internals on a norinco slide and frame, its coming along nicely actually. I've found that once fitted, the pistol requires being fired in order to function properly. Initially it was very unreliable on feeding and ejection, after some tweeking, filing and swearing along with several hundred rounds its beginning to settle in nicely.
That reminds me, does anyone know if Ruger will ship some titanium firing pins to us in the great white north?
I need some sights and front strap checkering, then a polish and the bluing begins.:)

...don't even ask why anyone in their right mind would hand fit over $600 in parts into a $200 gun!? I think its cool, and that's all that matters. Pound salt!:p
