Looking for a extended slide release for my 1911 in western canada. I have found a few but too high a price. May have to check out the next show in Calgary, but if anyone has one for sale let me know. Thanks for any help.

My IPSC gun had one and it drove me nuts. Because I would be pressing down on it without knowing or intending to do it, the slide wouldn't lock back on the last round. I had a few situations in the heat of a stage where I would run the gun dry and not realize it as a result, and lose time dry firing, then changing mags, then having to fully rack the slide... what a pain! To each their own I guess.

I never had the issue that Ed was typing about just I don't use it on any pistol now I rack it works %100 of the time, and keeps all things simple

extended slide stops...

Notice I called it by it's correct name.... ;)

Anyway, unless you have midget hands they are pretty much useless.

I always swap them out on 1911's acquired that happen to come with for a standard one. Like the NP-29 and the new Norc 1911A1 'enhanced' model I recently got from Can-Am. John Browning had it right with his original design... :p
