Where am I going to find a four prong spring for a 1911? I've had two smiths check out one of my 1911's with a trigger that does not reset after each shot with 100% reliability.

If you are talking about the sear spring. Wolf Gunsprings has a variety of them, and they export to Canada.

The normal Colt spring is the three leaf version. The four finger version is produced by Jim Clark in Louisiana and only available to Canadians through Brownells. However that will not solve your reset problem by itself. The centre finger pressures the trigger bow, and interrupter. Trying for a really light trigger by bending this finger back will cause the reset problem. The cure is to bend it forward slightly. Make sure the trigger bow is completely free to move in its slot- when in place it should move by gravity alone when the gun is tipped up or down. Yes I have done lots of match triggers for bullseye, but won't try to set one down at the levels claimed by some ipsc smiths. One and a half pounds of draw on the centre leaf with trigger and interrupter in place only will get you a good two point five to four pound consistent trigger, once it is all together.
