I enjoyed shooting my 1911s and then moved to shooting Shadow 2 a lot. Today I decided to try my 1911s and then I found I am not getting used to the thinner single stack grips. It just doesn’t feel comfortable. Does anyone know what kind of grips I can get to improve it? I want to try it on my Sig stainless target elite first. Thanks.

Another grip to consider is this:

They're very inexpensive. I've tried/used many others, but these have remained my favorite grip over the years. They're rubber, but harder than Pachmayrs, and not as sticky. They're "standard" thickness, and quite durable, though I will admit I bought a little stockpile of them some time ago, in case Colt's ever stop making them.

All my 1911s get vz grips. They have many options available to choose from like more or less agressive texture, thumb notches, many colors, etc
+1 for VZ g10 grips. LOK grips are great as well at a lower price. They look slick and feel goos in the hand. Both make CZ grips as well

years ago when I did my first 1911, a fellow had some steel spacers that went under the original colt ones, about 3/16" thick I guess, and the edges where polished, look good and felt good.
I may have had to use longer grip screws, don't remember. I had the gun about 80% hand engraved by a master at that.
Some where I should have a picture of that gun, havn't seen it in yrs, long before modern cameras.
