I did try the Wilson Combat FLGR on my Commander this week at the range and must stay it did improve felt recoil and reduced muzzle flip. Worked good, no FTE or FTF. Didn't notice any improved accuracy but it didn't adversely effect it either. Gun seemed to run smoother, but that is a personal observation.

Overall, for a tinker project, I think it is worth it.

My Commander and A1's by Norinco have had their FLGR removed and re-installed so many times I can't count. Finally decided to go with the guns with FLGR. As others have said the slide seems to lock up tighter and rack smoother with the FLGR in. It would be interesting to watch an x-ray photo of the 1911 in action with and without the FLGR. Might answer th e question once and for all. Just seems to me to be logical that the regular GI plug would cause just for a split second the spring to kink but hell I'm not superman and I have nver seen the photos either.

This would appear to be the ultimate:"Do you prefer cake or pie?"
I believe the reason the FBI guns were mandated without FLGR's was the
decision to err on reliability over accurracy.
As the comments in this thread indicate to the casual (or keen) observer is
that it really doesn't make a lot of difference.....
When you check in a technical manual about a certain issue, and there are
7 possible solutions offered, it generally indicates that either they ALL work
satisfactorily, or NONE of them do....
In this case, both 'solutions' to the technical problem ,(FLGR vs NFLGR), are
fine!
