Hey Gunnutz,
I could use a little help. Ive come across a springfield armoury 1911, 45acp. Its a gulf war commemorative, scenes of baghdad being bombed, a camel, jets, ships, tanks ect. on the slide. What would this guy be worth? Its in about 85% condition, been fired a bit, how many of these were made?

Pics are worth a thousand words.

While 1911 commemoratives generally are usually very interesting pieces they don't seem to hold value like they would Stateside.

Thats the one! Its been fired so the comemorative factor is hurting, what kind of offer should I make this guy?

If you want it as a shooter, I woudn't pay any real amount over and above what the gun would be worth without all of the deocorations on it. I would possibly pay a bit more if I really liked the art.

Therefore, find out what that make and model, as a regular gun, would sell for and adjust the price to reflect how much use it has seen and its overall condition.

I agree with the idea that such commermorative guns can have some decent value in the States. The problem here that the gun is in Canada and it is not mint, so I wouldn't count on any "collector value" here.

If the seller wants too much, move on.
