Hi guys,
Been shooting a hard chrome 9mm STI trojan, and just decided it's time for an upgrade.
Just purchased a brand new STI bull barrel from a CGN dealer.

I am looking for a smith, that can both fit the barrel, then give it a TiN coating on barrel, will look very nice on a chrome gun.
If possible, i would like references that have worked on your gun, and would like to know how it went.

Cheers

try ARMCO. that dude does all kinds of pistol work and finishing. i would trust him. he is just a small operation. i bought my desert eagle from him 11 years ago.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Armco i believe have their hands full with the ''alarm'' incident, Red tower could be a good idea once fitted, but they seem to only do refinishing.

My old gunsmith RK doesn't do much anymore, and just contacted Tactical Ordnance, they are too busy for new work.

I am familliar with the process of 1911 barrel fitting, anyone know where i can get barrel cutting lug tools in Canada for not too much $$$?

I would totally avoid Armco after there so called "alarm incident" something just doesn't sound right to his ongoing story and seeing all the pistols he has for sale minus the frames...

Casey @ Tac Ord says he's no 1911 expert after I called him once and didn't want to work on them, he said to fine a professional somewhere and good luck.

Check out Dark International in the link below. Call and talk to Roger but call at around 6pm as he does the nightshift with his gunsmithing.

When i refered to RK i was refering to dark international, his initials.
Have had great work done in the past, right now less of an option, it's something i'm willing to discuss via PM.
Nothing went wrong, just not my option anymore.

Clarence just installed a new barrel and one of his custom compensators on my STI Steelmaster. He did a great job. Im doing load testing right now since the new barrel is for 9mm major. The TIN coating is something I might do next when I find a reputable place to do that. First I want to break everything in properly.

Well Armco gave all the machining/gunsmithing work to Bumblebee Customs.

Lost the gun for only 10 days, and that includes shipping both ways.
Test drove 100 rounds this afternoon, couldn’t be happier.

I wondered who beat up your slide but re read and realized it was a bushing gun first. Dlask did the same conversion for me on my Para.
