I'm looking at getting into the IPSC side of pistol shooting and will need a holster and mag pouches for my 1911 .45. Unfortunatley time is a factor and i need a set by next weekend - any recommendations for a good brand and somewhere with quick shipping?

I'd prefer leather if i can get it.

Thanks in advance!

i'd look at kydex before leather...it's cheaper and more durable!

I'd give Freedom Ventures or SG FX a call for a belt and mag pouches. CR Speed is the brand i'd look at.

I also recommend a nice Bladetech Kydex holster. TSE has them. If not then get a CR Speed Holster.

Unless you are looking for the high speed, purpose built, go faster IPSC gear,
I suggest 911 supply or The Shooting Edge will have a holster & single stack mag carriers for you. Kydex will be cheaper and generally faster on the draw, especially with no time to break the leather in. Both stores will have a selection of leather as well (although most are geared for concealment). If you are set on leather, TSE has some little pots of leather dressing/ 'lube' for the holster to help with a quick break-in.

Phoenix sells some IPSC specific gear like CR Speed belts and (I think) mag pouches, but I think lack in stuff that is on hand (which does you no good on match day). Good people to order from though!

For a holster I have a JR Macro from Freedom Ventures. Great unit! Right now I use the Uncle Mikes Kydex mag pouches from WSS. Might have to upgrade sometime in the future, but they work fine for me right now.
If you're buying from out of town, have them XpressPost it to you. Costs a bit more, but you'll have it in time.

I can lend you a Blade-Tech Dropped Offset Holster for your 1911 and some mag pouches for the course so you can 'try before you buy'.

(BTW, I'm your instructor)
